Learn How to Paint Easter Eggs
It's time to create a new Easter tradition with your family, and what better than to learn how to decorate your own Easter eggs! This guide on how to paint Easter Eggs will teach you what you need to decorate Easter Eggs that would make any Easter Bunny proud! So here's are the tools you'll need:
- A few eggs
- A needle
- A bowl for the contents of the eggs
- Some paint brushes
- Paint, glitter, sparkles, feathers, ribbons and any other fun materials you want to use to decorate your eggs
How to Empty the Easter Eggs
First you take an egg and poke a small hole on one end with the needle. Then on the opposite end you poke an even larger hole with the needle. Be careful not to break the shell of the egg in any other way, and also ensure that the hole has pierced the membrane of the egg. Now turn the egg upside down and over your bowl and blow through the smallest hole you made. This will push the insides of the egg out into the bowl. Continue until the egg is empty. Feel free to use the contents of the egg for cooking. Then clean the egg with water and let it dry as you prepare your other tools.
How to Paint Easter Eggs
Now that your eggs are empty and dry you can start the creative painting process! I suggest you place a paper towel or some newspapers on your work table and prepare a small glass with water in it so that you can wash your paint brushes when you change paint colors.
To paint your eggs, start with the lightests colors first and get creative! You can make many different types of eggs, including some solid colored easter eggs, some striped ones, some with hearts, stars, or other shapes on them. If you really get serious into the egg painting game you can purchase some egg stands, which will hold your eggs upright while you paint them. This will make the egg painting process easier. You can also use a sponge and dunk the sponges into different colored paints and dab the paint onto your eggs to make fun cloud-like shapes on your Easter Eggs. Let your creativity run wild: you can use leaves, flowers and any other fun decorations you can think of and glue these onto your eggs.
Remember that Easter is meant to celebrate spring, birth and rebirth along with the abundance and prosperity of a new season. So let your children enjoy the egg painting and egg decorating process. You could even make some themed eggs with some of your children's favorite superheros like Superman or Wonder Woman! Just a way to make Easter a bit more personal this year.
