You don?t need a lot of fancy materials here, you just need a little bit of inspiration and maybe 30 minutes of your time. Happy Easter Basket Making!
The following are the steps to follow to make your own Easter Basket:
1) First find an empty basket. This basket can be weaved, made out of plastic, or even paper. The material doesn't really matter, as long as the basket is sturdy enough to handle everything you are planning to put in it.
2) Line the bottom of the Easter basket with colored paper, either newspaper or otherwise scrap paper. You can reuse the periodicals and just cut up the paper for padding in the bottom of your basket. Remember that using newspapers or flyers that you get in the mail is a much more environmentally friendly use of the paper, than using fresh new paper to line the bottom of your basket.
3) Decide who you will give your basket to before you do anything else. If you want to know what makes a good easter gift basket, there are a few guidelines. Decide on the audience of your gift basket. Will it be a gift for a children, if so how old are they? Will it be a gift for a man or a woman? Is it for a friend, a family member, a coworker, a boss, an acquaintance, a neighbor? Once you know this, it will give you ideas of what to put inside the basket.
4) Time to go shopping! Decide on what you will put in your basket before you go to the store. Of course you might change your mind once you get there and see how inexpensive those large easter chocolate bunnies are, but at least you can plan ahead. By planning ahead you can decide how much you want to spend on your easter basket and approximately what you want to put in it.
5) Depending on who your basket is for, you can save a lot of money by buying a large or medium sized bag of small chocolate easter eggs. Then you can place a few of these easter eggs around the inner perimeter of your easter basket for a nice decorative easter touch.
6) Now place all of the different items you want to give away into the basket, making sure these items are cradled into the fluffy paper cut outs you created. If you have any items that are very tall, you can wrap a bow around them to secure them to each other, or to the handles of your basket, if there are some.
7) To add a fun touch to your basket, you might try spraying a small squirt of your favorite perfume into your basket. Alternatively you would drop a small drop of your favorite essential oil, just to give the basket a more welcoming touch.
8) If you want to give your basket a soft and comforting touch, add a small plush animal. Even adults find it hard to resist petting a fluffy and soft stuffed animal, especially around Easter where animals are such a common theme.
9) If you will be giving this Easter basket soon, you should always include a few fresh fruits. I suggest oranges, apples, bananas, pears, pomelos, peaches or plums. If this basket will be kept in transit or otherwise not able to be opened quickly, why not include some dried fruits or nuts, such as dried figs, dried dates, or almonds, walnuts, peanuts and so on.
10) Finally, it is time to place the bow around the handle of your basket. If your basket doesn't have a handle, then you can use the ribbon to tie a makeshift handle around your basket. If you can, try poking two holes on opposite sides of your basket and lacing the ribbon through those. Tie the ribbon in a large loop, and you have just created your own handle for the basket.
As you can see putting together your own Easter Basket to give to your friends is quite simple. In just 10 steps you can make a nice Easter basket, imagine how many people you can make happy by repeating these steps a few times. You can even streamline the whole process by only shopping once for all of your gifts, and buying the empty baskets in bulk, or even by re-gifting items that you do not plan to use.
