What You Need For Your Easter Egg Hunt
- Fun Easter Eggs. A bag of chocolate easter eggs work best because they are wrapped up and are less likely to get dirty or unedible, however you might also consider Jellybean eggs, bigger Easter Eggs from Cadbury or Kinder Surprises. If you want you can also get some fun plastic eggs with small toys in them.
- A large backyard for hiding your Easter Eggs. Alternatively this game can be played inside if the weather is too hot or too cold.
- Some free time before everyone else arrives to your Easter party to get everything hidden in time! |
How to Hide Easter Eggs
No matter where you're playing the Easter Egg hunt you need to consider who your intended audience is. If you are playing with young children you can't hide all of the eggs in hard to reach places because they won't be able to find them, and this will be dissapointing for children. Of course if you're playing with adults you can't just leave a bunch of Easter Eggs on the floor or on tables, since they will be found in no time. We suggest to find middle ground where some eggs will be easy to find and others might be harder.
First off you will want to count the number of chocolate eggs you have before you start hiding them. Keep in mind that you might not remember where you hide all of your eggs, and if you guests can't find them all and you don't know how many you hid you might discover that you will have melted chocolates in weird places in a few weeks or months. So keep track of how many eggs you have. If you want to be sure that you can retrieve all of the easter eggs you hide, you can create a small hand-drawn map of your Egg Hunt area and put a small dot whenever you hide an egg there. This will make the whole experience a lot easier to manage. You'll also be able to provide people and kids with clues when they get stumped and tell you they got them all. Of course by that point you'll know there are still some hidden easter eggs because you'll have your Easter Egg Count.
If you're outside you should beware not to place Chocolate Eggs in direct sunlight since they will melt. If you have any pets, especially dogs don't leave any eggs on the ground. Dogs cannot eat chocolate since it can kill them, and we all know how good a sense of smell dogs have. So play it safe and only put eggs in tree branches, on top of doorways (for adults) and so on.
Have a Happy Easter Egg Hunt - and good luck!
